UK Auto Locksmith offers a cheaper alternative. They are experts at replacing Seat car keys and are able to help you with any issues that might arise.
Lost Keys
All keys must be in a secure place at all times. no one should own more than one key at a time (with the exception of broken keys in locks). Completed reports on stolen or lost keys must be submitted to University Safety. If the loss is determined to be due to criminal crime, a police report must also be filed. The replacement fee for a stolen lock key is $30 per key and has to be paid to the responsible holder of the key.
Broken Keys
It's not uncommon for keys to break after just a few years. If your keys break in the lock, you'll need to replace it. If the rest of the lock key is still in good shape it is possible to repair it.

A paperclip is a great way to hold the broken piece from both sides and pull it out. If the broken piece isn't trapped too far in the lock, you can try using pliers. If the key is damaged very close to lock, you may need a "key extraction" tool with a bar on it with a barb similar to screws. The bar can be inserted into the lock, and then by twisting it, you can push the barb into the key to pull it out.
It's easy to replace a key on a keyboard when you have the appropriate tools. You'll require a key cap (the plastic piece that sits over the switch) along with a keypad, and a key retainer clip. Key caps are comprised of either metal or plastic posts that are inserted into the slots on the switch. To replace a key cap, carefully remove the internal components of the key and record the location of them so you can replace them later. You may need to wash the keyboard with rubbing alcohol prior to proceeding.
Fobs Not Working
It may seem absurd that your key fob requires routine maintenance, but they can be out of commission at any time. Sometimes, the issue may be as simple as an inoperative battery. If G28 tried changing your batteries and your fob isn't working, it could be time to try something else.
Another reason for a fob to stop working is because the buttons are been worn out. When you press the button on your fob the contacts send coded messages to the receiver in your car, which communicates the action you would like the key to perform. If the contacts on your key fob are worn out or damaged, you might not be in a position to press the button, or it may send a different message from the one you wanted.
A possible solution for this issue is to utilize a physical key to unlock your car's doors and start the engine. You can also reset the fob using the procedure in your vehicle's owner's manual (check online for instructions for your particular model).
If replacing the batteries and programming your key fob doesn't work then you may have to have it replaced or repaired. Modern keys have to be programmed to be compatible with your vehicle's specific Vehicle Identification Number and some errors or wear-and-tear can cause the programming to be corrupted.
Transponder Chips
The transponder chips in your car key are a very important part of the car key. They transmit an indication with a distinct frequency when the key is placed in the ignition. The car's electronic device recognises the code and knows it's you. The engine won't start if the device inside the car doesn’t recognise the signal. This is a security measure designed to prevent thieves from hot wiring their vehicles and stealing them.
The chip isn't powered by a battery, therefore it does not require replacement or charging. It will however need to be programmed to the car by someone with access to your car's ECU This is the reason why you should bring your keys to locksmith.
Transponder chips are available in several varieties and the most popular are Rolling Code and Crypto. The key blanks are made of plastic with a slot for the glass ampoule/transponder. It is then slid into a sleeve or carrier on the side (or bow) of the key. There is a picture of one of these sleeve-carriers from an Ford key here. You can get the transponder from a damaged key using the PVC ratcheting pipe cutter or any other method to cut off the sleeve.
A normal transponder key is more expensive than a steel key due to the chip, but is less expensive than a fob or a smart key. The cost of these keys is dependent on the make and model.
